What is a unit owner in an HOA?
A unit owner holds legal title to a property in a community association and is subject to its rules and dues. This may or may not be the person living in the unit, such as when a property is rented out. Unit owners have defined legal rights and obligations, including voting on major issues and abiding by the governing documents.
